Good morning, sunshine - |
I have a friend Tamara, who I met through another friend, years ago. When we met, we knew we had too much in common, and we would see eye to eye. We have the same temperment - the take no BS, can solve any problem, always one upping our own self type. So, when I was feeling a little insecure, or vulnerable, I would call her and I would believe her when she told me that everything will work out, and that I could make it through. because she knew. I remember calling her on every drive to a nerve-wracking studio session, knowing she would deliver the perfect pep talk. |
And, as happens, we lost touch a little. Life got busy, and the our meetings that remained were Merry Christmas texts. But we had plans, someday, we would catch up! |
Yesterday, I was flying home from a work trip. Exhausted from being away, very nervous about a show I have tonight, in LA. Anxious to get home so I could practice more. Annoyed about a long flight delay. Maybe you see where this is going. |
As I turn the corner in the San Francisco Airport, looking for a lunch place, who do I see? My friend Tamara. Who also had 3 hours until her flight took off. |
At first this meeting seemed so coincidental, and lucky. This was our first meeting in 3 years. We could have a great time, catch up, when neither of us had plans. But about two hours in, after I skipped straight to sharing with her all my deepest most terrifying thoughts, I realized something so special - here she was, gifted to me, to calm me down, and bring me confidence, before my show. Practice, schmactice. I have Tamara. |

At the end of our airport date, we said to each other that we were actually happy that our flights got delayed. Imagine that.
|
So, here’s some proof that things work out. Can't wait to hear all the things that work out for you. |
Love always,
Lauren
